THE first meeting in October was held on the 12th.

It followed an enjoyable coach trip to Welshpool on 28 September.

A committee meeting was arranged for the following week to discuss the position of chairperson as this was Betty’s final meeting in the position.

The Christmas shopping trip will take place on 23 November, and, following a vote on suggested destinations, they will be going to Chester.

The Christmas lunch at Llety Parc in December was discussed and the pantomime ‘Cinderella’ at the Arts Centre in January.

Joy will be taking names and collecting money for both these events.

Following these discussions Betty gave a talk on ‘Starvation and Murder’ which covered the murder in Borth of Mary Davisin November 1894.

Betty was thanked for her talk and for all she has done for Borth Senior Citizens as Chairperson since 2007.

At the meeting on 26 October, Joy took the chair.

She advised members that the Christmas shopping trip coach will leave Bow Street at 8.15am on 23 November.

The Carnival Committee have told them that they are to receive a donation at an event in the hall on Saturday, 11 November, which members are invited to attend.

Refreshments followed and members then enjoyed a few games of bingo.

At the next meeting on 9 November, they are looking forward to welcoming William Troughton from the National Library whose talk is entitled ‘Aberystwyth Through Time’.
