THE last meeting took place in the Church Hall on 9 October.

In the absence of the chair, president Guy Lloyd, opened the meeting by offering condolences, on behalf of members, to the family of Bernard Pead, who sadly passed away recently.

Having advised members of the details pertaining to the Christmas party on 11 December, and also the New Year lunch at 1957 on Sunday, 28 January, he then introduced the speaker, Dorothy Round who proceeded to demonstrate creative flower arranging.

Her first arrangement consisted of autumn leaves in a basket, representing Harvest, interspersed with white chrysanthemums.

Eucalyptus foliage provided the backdrop in her second arrangement, together with alstroemeria and pale mauve freesia.

Pink was added to provide even more colour.

The final arrangement contained griselinia, pittosporum, ivy, pale green gladioli, purple salvia and asters.

Sunflowers, berries and assorted foliage were pre-arranged by Mrs Round and presented on a pedestal.

Lucky raffle prize winners were able to take their pick of these beautiful arrangements.

Dinah Pickard gave a vote of thanks to Mrs Round.

The next meeting will be held on 13 November, in the Village Hall when Tim Lever, from Aberconwy Nurseries, will entertain and enlighten the group with an account of his travels in Patagonia.
