JOAN Yates, the president welcomed members to the October meeting.

Meirion was sung, the minutes of the previous meeting were read and birthdays acknowledged with song and cards.

Future dates were brought to their attention which included a special Barn Dance to be held on 19 December when Mooncoyne will play for the dancers.

Anna Williams, the guest speaker was introduced. Anna works for the Welsh Wildlife Trust. Her talk was illustrated with the work being carried out in schools in association with the Trust.

Children created meadows, ponds and herb gardens and thus attracted butterflies, bees, birds and frogs into the school environment.

Lesley Bay thanked Anna for her interesting talk and stunning pictures.

She also thanked Sheila Lemon and Debbie Andrews who were in charge refreshments.

The next meeting is the AGM which will be held on 14 November.
