Church Choir Prepares for Harvest Festival

HARVEST Festival this year is on Sunday, 8 October, and the principal English service will be a Choral Evensong for Harvest Festival at 4pm, followed by a bring and share Harvest Tea in the Church Hall.

The church choir has been busy rehearsing for this service since the summer break.

The music will include the full evening service in D by Charles Brewer and the anthem The Heavens are Telling the Glory of God from Hadyn’s Oratorio, The Creation.

The latter is very demanding and the church choir is being augmented for the service with some guest singers. Bilingual posters advertising the service have been produced and are being put up.

The choir will be directed by Darryl Walters and Ian Rees will be the organist.

Aber Opera Concert

THE splendid acoustics of St Padarn’s enjoyed each week by the choir, will be also be put to good use this Friday, 22 September, at 7.30pm when Aber Opera presents a concert of operatic choruses and duets along with instrumental interludes.

Admission is £5 and all proceeds go to church funds.
