St Padarn’s

Swinging ‘60s Social

DUE to unforeseen circumstances, the Social planned for this Friday, 29 September, in the Church Hall, has had to be postponed.

It has been rescheduled to cheer the dark days post Christmas, and will now take place on Saturday, 20 January 2018, at 3pm in the Church Hall.

Aber Opera Concert

Last Friday’s concert in church by Aber Opera was a delight and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

Accompanied by their musical director Alister Auld, they brought along a programme much of which was entirely new to their audience.

The instrumental interlude saw David Cooper on the Violin playing Edmund Severn’s Polish Dance.

In the interval, ladies of the church Hospitality Committee served tea.

At the end of the concert Genene James gave a warm vote of thanks to them for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.

Bell Ringing

The arrival of a party of 10 ringers from Montgomery last Thursday night led to a very enjoyable practice with a range of methods being rung and all 10 bells in use during the evening.

The visitors really appreciated the Llanbadarn Bells and warmly thanked them for allowing them the opportunity to ring and socialise.

They extended a warm invitation to the Llanbadarn ringers to pop over Eisteddfa Curig and enjoy an evening with them in their tower in the future.

Services

Next Sunday, 1 October, is the 16th Sunday of Trinity and services will be: 8am, Holy Communion using the 1984 Red Book setting; 10am, Boreol Weddi, and 11.15am Sung Mattins.

This Friday, 29 September, is the Feast of St Michael and All Angels (Michaelmas), and there will be a bilingual service of Holy Communion at 10am in the Lady Chapel.

Harvest Festival this year will be on Sunday, 8 October, and there will be no 11.15am English Service.

It will be replaced by a Choral Evensong for Harvest which will be led by an augmented church choir directed by Darryl Walters and accompanied by Ian Rees on the organ.

The evensong will be followed by a Bring and Share Tea in the Church Hall.

All are welcome to the services.
