Community Council

IT was the AGM of Llanbedr Community Council on 3 May, where Kevin Titley was elected as chairman, and Gruffydd Price as vice chairman for the coming year.

Goronwy Davies stepped down as chairman after two years of service to the council.

Two difficult years, with a lot of responsibilities and seeing new rules and new policies emerging and dominating the council each month, thus leaving less time to concentrate on general matters of importance at Llanbedr.

He thanked everyone for their hard and dedicated work for the Community of Llanbedr, and wished all a successful year.

Goronwy Davies also congratulated Councillor Annwen Hughes our Gwynedd Council representative on her newly elected role as chairperson to Gwynedd Council.

Representatives of different meetings were also elected.

Matters relating to the Community Council were then carried out.

It was noted that an exhibition will be held on 18 May, regarding the plans for the Llanbedr Woodlands and Paths Partnership Project at the Village Hall.

A warm welcome is extended to all.

Open from 2pm until 7pm.

Some more good news, that the bus service from Barmouth to Porthmadog will be running at more frequent times.

This means that there will be up to eight journeys per day between Porthmadog, Harlech and Barmouth (and connecting to the T3 to and from Dolgellau to Wrecsam).

Every month they have some news about the access road or Llanbedr by pass.

Recently, YGC have been meeting again with Natural Resource Wales in relation to the proposed hydraulic model, and will be able to give this information and new photomontages to the National Park Authority before the July meeting of SNPA.

The Community Council are looking into the possibilities of having white lines on the Mochras road opposite some residential properties, in order to alleviate the traffic jams on this road.
