On Saturday, 25 November, 19 members were treated to a day of creative festivity when they visited Gareth Richards, Cinio Nadolig yn Y Goedwig.

They enjoyed a day of indulgence – in the morning after coffee and homemade Viennese whirls and shortbread Gareth prepared seven dishes to be shared as part of lunch and afternoon tea.

Then in the afternoon having been wined and dined they all enjoyed a flower demonstration when Gareth created five beautiful arrangements for the hall, Christmas dining table and to give as gifts.

Tea followed and the arrangements were raffled, so there were five very happy members carefully carrying flowers home.

Mair James gave the vote of thanks for a wonderful day, which was definitely Christmas with a twist.

On Wednesday, 6 December, members were again treated to a wonderful evening when Beti Wyn Davies gave a demonstration which was ’A Taste of Christmas using felt’.

Beti showed a range of articles she had made using the wet felting method.

Shelagh Yeomans gave the vote of thanks. Over tea and biscuits the raffle was drawn and Beti Wyn was asked to judge the competition which was for the best Christmas paper.

This was the last meeting of 2017 but members will be singing carols with the Young Farmers around the village on Thursday, 21 December starting at 6pm.

The first meeting of the New Year will be held on Wednesday, 10 January when Linnie Castlemaine of Pantglas will lead a Yoga session.
