Ghost talk
FOR adults only, Ghost Talk with Rory takes place at Trewythen Hotel, Friday, 5 October, 7pm sharp, £6 in aid of Heather Pugh’s Canadian Rockies Challenge for Marie Curie.
Pink night
A PINK night in aid of cancer charities takes place at the rugby club on Friday, 19 October with a 7.30pm start.
There will be a quiz, raffle, disco and Llanidloes Tenovus Choir.

Guide dogs coffee morning
THE coffee morning held by Llanidloes Rotary Club in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind on 22 September raised over £200. Rotary president John Selwyn Smith thanked everybody who supported the event and the Old Mill for providing the venue.
Medieval history
DR David Stephenson’s classes in medieval history are set to resume at the start of October.
This term’s topic will be ‘Ten Medieval Lives’.
Classes will be held in The Mount Inn on Tuesdays at 7pm and on Wednesdays at 2pm, starting on 2 and 3 October.
Rotary club quiz
THE evening of Wednesday, 19 September, saw rival teams from Llanidloes Rotary and Pwllheli Rotary battle it out a quiz, with questions covering everything from snooker champions to precious stones.
At half time Llanidloes were just four points ahead but then in the second half they stormed ahead to a 55 to 40 victory.
Quizmaster John Breeze (who received the questions in a sealed envelope) thought the questions very hard.
Llanidloes team leader Dr Anthony Swindell said that the secret was in having a side with immensely divergent areas of knowledge.
Vice-president Rev John Davies thanked everyone and wished the Pwllheli team a safe journey home.
Noah’s Ark charity concert
THE next concert for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Appeal will be at the Rugby Club, Smithfield Street, on Friday, 12 October, starting at 7pm.
The concert features Llanidloes Primary School Choir, Two Gareths, Ken and Jeff, Tom Lovell and others.
The compére will be Nye Jones.
