Golf club

THERE will be a St Idloes quiz night at the golf club on Saturday, 27 April at 7pm.

£5 for a team of four.

Food festival

THERE will be a food festival in Llanidloes on Saturday, 11 May, at the Community Centre with free entry, 10am to 4pm.

It is a celebration of plant-based food.

A great day out for the whole family, lots to see and do.

It is a feature of National Vegetarian Week, 11 to 19 May. There will be many events, courses, films, farm picnic, talks and workshops.

Coffee morning

LLANIDLOES Masonic Lodge will be holding a coffee morning to raise funds for a defibrillator for public use, on Saturday, 27 April from 10am to noon at Chatwood House, Longbridge Street.

Entry: £1.

The defibrillator will be put on the outside of the Masonic Lodge and available to the public if needed.

Chartists

ON Saturday, 27 April, meet at the town hall for the Chartist History Tour with guides and street musicians between noon and 12.30pm.

At 3pm at the Old Mill there will be a talk called ‘Is Chartism still Relevant?’ by speakers Steve Hedley, Snr assistant general secretary RMT Trade Union, Cllr Elwyn Vaughan and Cllr Gareth Morgan (PCC).

Then at 7.30pm at The Old Mill, there will be a folk night and Ceilidh with free entry and performances by Tinc Y Tannau, Rapsquilion and Brenig, sponsored by Llanidloes Town Council.

Llanidloes in Bloom

THE town council has announced that there is a hanging basket/ planter competition for Llanidloes Town Centre to include Great Oak Street, Longbridge Street, Shortbridge Street, China Street and High Street.

Exhibits to be displayed from 1 June to 31 August. Arrangements will be judged on Saturday, 27 July.

Prizes will be a commemorative plaque and £50.

Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS are wanted to welcome visitors to the Old Market Hall.

Do you have any time to spare between 11am and 4pm on any Sunday, or lunchtime any day Tuesday to Saturday from the beginning of May to the end of September?

If interested phone 01686 413823 or 07717 761667, or pop in to the Old Market Hall any day except Mondays, and sign up for the days you are able to help.

Friends Together

YOU are invited to join everyone on the second Wednesday of each month at St Idloes Church Hall, from 2pm to 3.30pm, or any part of that time to come in, meet friends, have a cup of tea; open to everyone of all ages.

Supper Club

THERE is a supper club at the Old Mill, High Street, every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.

It costs £7.50 and includes supper and any drink up to £3.50. Meat and veggie options are available. Book at The Old Mill or on Facebook.

Free guided walks

FREE guided walks around the town take place every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Meet at the town hall at 10.30am. Walks last between one and two hours.

Millenium Garden

THE Llanidloes Millenium Garden is a garden maintained by volunteers. They are looking for more volunteers to join the group.

They meet in the garden on Friday mornings, 9am until 10am (weather permitting).

Mother’s Day draw

TWO Llanidloes mums were treated to a Mother’s Day goodie gift bags by Woosnam & Davies News.

Ruth Johnson and Beth Owen were the winners.

Grand National

THE Grand National charity sweepstake is held every year at Woosnam & Davies News.

First prizes were given to John Wilden, Vic Oroharo, Mark Pope and Brian Thomas All proceeds will go to Wales Air Ambulance.

Tadpoles

CHRISTIAN fun for babies, preschool children and their carers.

Song time, story time, crafts and snacks on Wednesday 1 and 15 May at St Idloes Church Hall from 10am to 11.30am.
