Bonfire
THE Rotary bonfire and fireworks evening takes place this year at Kennel Field, Llanidloes. The fire is lit at 6.30pm, fireworks start at 7pm. There is free entry with a bucket collection for local rotary good causes. Please do not bring sparklers or fire-works to the field.
Hafren hedging society
THE 31st annual hedging match takes place at Tynywaen, Van, by kind permission of the Gethin family, on 5 November. All welcome. All enquiries 01686 420606 or 01686 430671.
Remembrance
THE Remembrance Parade and service will take place on Sunday, 13 Novem-ber. The parade will leave the top of town at 10.30am. The service will commence in St Idloes Church at 10.45am. After the service, wreaths will be laid at the Cenotaph.Members of the Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion are organising the 2016 Poppy Appeal and will be grateful for your support and contributions.
Neighbourhood policing
THE local neighbourhood policing team will hold a police surgery at the police station the first Friday of every month between 4pm and 5pm to discuss any local issues you may have. Starting 4 November.
Choir
THE Voskresenije (Resurrection) Choir from St Petersburg, with director Jurij Maruk, will perform at St Idloes Church at 7pm, Thursday, 3 November. For tickets call 01686 412442.
