Eisteddfod

LLANIDLOES High School enjoyed a very successful eisteddfod for Years 7, 8 and 9 on St David’s Day.

There was a wide variety of competitions, including recitation, drama, singing, instrumental competitions and ‘the silent monks’. The highlight of the day was the Chairing of the Welsh and English literary winners. Amy Owen, who had written an imaginative descriptive piece, and Megan Jones, who had written a piece of prose entitled Belonging, were both worthy winners.

A number of other awards were given, including an art prize for Ian Downey and Jess Lewis, and the Junior Literary Medals for Welsh and English, which went to Ffion Snape and Aerona Ferguson respectively.

Curriculum area leader for languages Gwenan Crawford said: “After much fierce competition, Ceiriog house were the overall winners of the day. Da iawn bawb!”
