ONE of the members, Pam Jennings, welcomed members to her home and garden on 13 June, to hear a report from the National WI AGM held in Cardiff earlier in the month.

Unfortunately, Diane Howe from Penparcau WI, representing the WI at the AGM, was unable to be present but she had sent a report read by Judy Lile.

The guest speakers at the AGM were Dame Stella Rimington, an author, who had been the first woman director general of M15 in the 1990’s and Huw Edwards, an author and well known broadcaster, both excellent speakers.

Judy Lile, Maureen Edwards and Barbara Awty were also present.

The resolution ‘Mental Health Matters as much as Physical Health’ was passed with 98 per cent voting for the resolution.

Judy Lile reported that she and another seven County Chairmen had recently represented the WI at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party for representatives of Charities.

The guest speaker on 20 June, was Leslie Jones who had come to demonstrate how to make flowers from pieces of material.

They all had a go some being more successful than others.

On 22 June, Carol Evans, Margaret Rees and Lilwen Bevan took part in the annual WI county general knowledge quiz in Llanrhystud.

Seven members went to Blue Island Ceramics in Ynys Las on 27 June, when they painted an item of pottery of their choice.

Hazel Rimmer thanked Zana for an instructive and enjoyable afternoon.
