New Dyfi Players

NEW Dyfi Players would like to thank everyone who came to the Panto sign up session on Saturday.

The 2019 pantomime will be ‘Twm Sion CAT Rides again. It will be held during February half term.

There will be a read through session of the script this Thursday, 27 September, at 6pm.

Garden club

THE next meeting of Machynlleth and District Garden Club takes place on Tuesday, 2 October, at the bowling club, 7.30pm.

Emma Maxwell will give a talk and practical demonstration on Winter Hanging Baskets. A warm welcome is extended to anyone interested in joining the club.

Coffee and cakes

THE Machynlleth and District Committee of North West Cancer Research is inviting all to a coffee and cakes morning, including various stalls and raffle, at Machynlleth Rugby Club on Saturday, 6 October, 10am - noon.

Heritage society

THE Dyfi Valley Heritage Society is holding its next monthly meeting at the Tabernacle Machynlleth on Wednesday, 3 October at 12 noon.

The guest speaker is the president of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society, David Mitchell, whose talk is entitled The Talyllyn Railway.

The society’s meetings are open to members and visitors.

Football AGM

THE Machynlleth Hurricanes Junior Football Club will hold its AGM at Machynlleth Bowling Club on Sunday, 30 September, at 4pm.

Cooking Stars

THE free cooking workshops sponsored by Mach Maethlon continued at the Machynlleth bowling Club on 20 September.

Annie Levy took all present through a back-to-basics and beyond workshop to demonstrate the art of making sauerkraut.

For those who want to develop veg-growing skills or potter about the garden, Edible Mach runs gardening sessions on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm till 4pm. Join at the Plas picnic table at 2pm and help to keep the 14 edible beds around town full of veg.

Each session is free and led by someone with some gardening know-how.
