Dawn Chorus
DAWN Chorus and Croissants hosted by RSPB mid-Wales on Saturday, 4 May at Ynys-hir reserve Eglwys Fach.
Discover a Celtic Rainforest waking up. Join the wardens on a walk through these wonderful woods at RSPB Ynys-hir listening to the array of bird calls as the day begins.
Coffee and croissants served in the visitor centre after the walk.

Fundraiser gig
THERE will be a fundraising gig to raise money for Corris United Football Club at the Slaters Arms in Corris on Friday, 10 May, at 8.30pm.
The evening will feature live music by the Mach Pumpers, Economic Decline and Phez.
Garden club
THE next meeting of Machynlleth & District Garden Club will be at the Bowling Club at 7.30 on Tuesday, 7 May.
Andrew Findon will give a talk on ‘Beekeeping - Old and New’.
There will also be an opportunity to make purchases from a selection of plants in support of club funds.
Etifeddiaeth/Heritage
ETIFEDDIAETH Dyffryn Dyfi Heritage Society will be holding its annual general meeting in the foyer of the Tabernacle on Wednesday, 1 May, at 7pm, followed by ‘bring an Item of interest’
The group always extends a warm welcome to new members.
Mach Maethlon
CELEBRATING 12 months of learning to grow and cook food together, funded by the National Lottery’s Awards for All scheme, Mach Maethlon has hosted an impressive 47 cooking workshops cooking and gardening workshops with people learning to make all kinds of tasty dishes.
These included Persian vegan feasts through to St David’s Day cawl and gained skills in fermenting. Pasta-making and sourdough.
The group has also run 12 successful gardening workshops covering all kinds of horticultural knowledge.
The group would like it known that it’s been a great pleasure to work with so many talented local chefs and to see people of all ages get together in the kitchen at the local bowling club.
Also, many thanks to all those that came to the gardening workshops and to our expert gardeners who taught them.
Mach Maethlon is seeking more grant funding so watch this space, but until then the workshops are taking a break.
Edible Mach volunteer session, spring get gardening with the regular volunteer sessions, 8 May at 2pm and 22 May at 2pm.
Hear to Help
THE Hear to Help drop-in clinic takes place this Friday, 3 May, from 10am to midday in Y Plas.
NHS hearing-aid wearers can visit this Action on Hearing Loss Cymru service for friendly help with cleaning their aids, new tubes and free batteries.
The drop-in is run by trained volunteers on the first Friday of every month.
