MOMA exhibitions
MACHYNLLETH Tabernacle Trust chairman Alun Jones welcomed all present at the Museum of Modern Art to the opening of three new exhibitions on Saturday, 8 April.
Launching the exhibitions, Hannah Kelly invited all to view the works Inside the Studio by Roger Cecil, Welsh Chapels by Dick Evans and Beate Gegenwart’s Always Water. And Roger Cecil’s informative book A Secret Artist received its official launch by Peter Wakelin.
The exhibitions can be viewed Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Admission to MOMA’s galleries is free. Donations welcome.
Bowls
MACHYNLLETH Bowling Club president Michael Williams will officially open Llynlloedd Green to kick-start the new season on Sunday, 23 April, at 12.30pm.
There will then follow the popular RNLI Pairs competition, which is the club’s annual fundraiser for the Aberdyfi branch of the RNLI.
Community art project
IN our minds there are many rooms; come along to this community art project with artist Tim Lliffe and make a box to represent the state of contents of our minds at the time of making. There are no rules!
Cut it, paint it, in fact do anything you like from 11am until 1.30pm on Thursday, 4 and 11 May, to these free workshops at the Tabernacle Museum of Modern Art. All art materials provided. All work will be displayed from 23 September to 25 November.

Tenants Talk Together
POWYS County Council’s housing tenants are invited to a ‘Tenant Talk Together’ event at the bowling club on Thursday, 20 April, at 2pm.
The event will provide an informal chance for tenants to call in to discuss issues with housing services staff or catch up with neighbours. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.There is no set agenda, just a chance to address any problems or simply have a chat with staff and others.
The event will last for an hour and a half. Tenants can drop in at any point during this time.

IN the period 29 March to 10 April, under Powys County Council’s scheme of delegation, county planning officers refused the following applications: Section 73 application to remove conditions 3, 4 and 5 (code for sustainable homes) attached to planning permission P/2010/1248, plot 14, Pencaumawr, Penegoes; section 73 application to remove conditions 3, 4 and 5 (code for sustainable homes) attached to planning permission P/2012/1405, land at Hengoed, Newtown Road, Machynlleth.
