Clwb Maglona

MEMBERS of Clwb Maglona - Bro Ddyfi Senior Citizens - will be holding a bring and buy sale as part of their next monthly meeting.

The event will be held at Machynlleth Bowling Club on Thursday (26 October) starting at 2pm.

All are most welcome to attend.

Darts

THE Dyfi Valley Darts League is now underway and, following the initial round of fixtures, Slaters and Wynnstay Llanbrynmair lead the field with nine points apiece.

Table (October 10): Slaters (9 points), Wynnstay Llan (9), White Horse A (7), Foresters B (7), Foresters A (6), Dovey (6), Bowling Club (4), White Horse B (4).

Edible Mach Maethlon

ON Thursday, 19 October, enthusiastic gardeners joined experienced market gardener Emma Maxwell for a soil and compost workshop at the group’s edible table.

Emma demonstrated the wonderful world of soil and techniques for understanding and caring for these essential components of a healthy garden.

More workshops will be held at the bowling club this Thursday and Friday.

The Green Goat Café will be introducing the art of French pastry and caramel making on the Thursday while the theme will be stuffed squash with pearl barley and risotto on Friday.

Ladies Golf

AT last there were two nice Thursdays and the ladies managed to finish playing for the trophies.

On 5 October we played for the HM Jones and Renee Davies cup.

Rhian Wynn won the gross with Helen Lewis runner-up and winner of the nett.

Ruth Thapa and Sue Fishbourne were third and fourth.

On 12 October it was lovely from the ankles up after all the rain and the ladies played the Relda Davies paired competition.

The winners were Rhian Wynn and Helen Lewis with Ruth Thapa and Sheila Edwards second.

They are now looking forward to their Christmas competitions when they can hopefully stock up on some wine and spirits.
