Hear to Help

THE drop-in clinic will take place on Friday, 6 April, at the care centre on Forge Road from 10am to midday.

NHS hearing aid wearers can visit this Action on Hearing Loss Cymru service for friendly help with cleaning their aids, new tubes and free batteries.

The clinic is free and is run by trained volunteers on the first Friday of each month.

Dementia support

THE Alzheimer’s Society Cymru is extending a warm welcome to those affected by dementia to come and talk to a dementia support worker to find support that is right for you.

The support worker will be on hand at the CAMAD offices at the care centre on Forge Road on Tuesday, 17 April, from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Metal-making workshops

BRITISH artist and sculptress Jo Naden will be in the Tabernacle, Heol Pen’rallt, to give a talk on 4 April at noon.

Then, on the following day, from 10.30am to 1.30pm, Jo will present metal-making workshops.

Dominoes

BELYING their lowly league position, Machynlleth Bowling Club dominoes players advanced in the Dyfi Valley Dominoes League’s competitions.

The league team battled through to the final of the Burtonwood Cup to take on league high-flyers Dovey.

Debra Jones is a finalist in the Iona Evans/Lucy Coleman Trophy and will team up with Sarah Davies in the Lucy Coleman Pairs.

And, completing a formidable line-up, Nye Williams will take on his rival in the Brian Roughsedge/Montana Trophy final.

Coffee morning

THERE will be a coffee morning, with stalls and a raffle, at St Peter’s Church on Thursday, 5 April, between 10am and noon.

Tea or coffee will be available. Soup and crusty bread will be served from noon to 1pm.

All proceeds from the day will go towards church funds.
