Cross Inn WI

LAST Monday, the ladies once again extended an invitation to local WI Groups to join them for a Welsh Tea at the club house at Pen Cnwc.

At the beginning of the evening, following a brief business meeting, members and their guests were challenged to four rounds of quiz questions, starting with a picture quiz of famous people.

This was followed by a round of photographs of well known places in Wales. Next round was ‘Name that Tune’ when a brief snatch of a popular song was played and the ladies were asked to name either the artist or the tune. They had to rack their brains to drag the answers up from the depths of their memories.

Finally, there was a list of questions where the answer to each contained the word, Saint or Wales.

In all, it was great fun and the competition was fierce. Eventually, the trophy was won by the top team, by only one point!!

A delicious tea followed of homemade scones, with cream and jam and bara brith, lavishly buttered, accompanied by numerous cups of tea.

The evening was enjoyed by everyone and will certainly become an annual event for Cross Inn.
