MAY’S main meeting had them finding out about edible plants with Darren Shipp who runs his business at the Celtic Country Winery in Henllan.
Darren’s interest in edible plants has developed from creating and making the jams and chutneys that the winery also produces.
He gave an enlightening and interesting talk about his love of unusual and exotic plants.
Newcastle Emlyn U3A now has a croquet group which brings the interest total to more than 20.
The bucket list group had two visits to Mill Rundle Pottery in Drefach Felindre in April where members had a go at throwing their own pots under the expert guidance of Simon the potter.
On 7 May, 12 members took the plunge down the Velocity 2 Zip Wire.
Next month’s main meeting is on Wednesday, 5 June, when Melinda Jarratt will be delivering and interesting talk entitled ‘Murder Inquiry – a conversation’.
Monthly meetings usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month at 10.30am for 11am at the Community Hall, and usually finishes about 12.15pm.

SERVICES: Wednesday, 15 May, 10am, Holy Communion.
Sunday, 19 May: No service at Holy Trinity; confirmation service at St Barnabas, Felindre at 10.30am.
Choir practice in the church at 3.30pm on Wednesday, 15 May.
There is a coffee morning in the hall, on Saturday, 11 May from 10.30am to noon, hosted by Holy Trinity.
