THE next walk is on 12 October, organised by Lucy Swannell 019741 261789/07939 787926.

Lisa Tomos - Discover National Trails – Glynd?r’s Way – this section of Glynd?r’s Way is a wonderful way to appreciate the surrounding lesser known countryside.

The walk starts at Cemaes Road from where we will climb gradually up, then along a ridge which gives extensive views of high hills stretching in all directions on a clear day. After dropping down to the nestled village of Abercegir and climbing back up, the terrain gets easier as we get closer to Machynlleth.

The walk is to last approximately 5.5 hours and is graded a Moderate to Hard Walk over a distance of 9 miles, with an ascent of 1600 ft / 500 m. Meet in the Machynlleth Car Park (off Heol Maesngwyn) – allow enough time to catch the bus from heol Maengwyn at 11am. Lift shares to be arranged and exact bus time/stop confirmed nearer the time.

THE club held a Strawberry Tea open day in Y Talbot on Tuesday, 13 August.

It was a successful afternoon, which was opened by Sian Evans, who gave a very interesting introduction to the afternoon.

The club is grateful for the success of the cake stall, lucky dip and bonus ball, as well as the raffle of the day and the main raffle.
