THE latest community news from Tregaron.
Easter Fair
Due to lack of interest from stalls, this year’s Easter Fair has been cancelled.
The Easter Egg Hunt has always been popular and will be held this year from the new Tregaron Indoor Market in Memorial Hall on Friday, 6 April.
The Christmas Fair will continue as usual and there are hopes for a bigger and better event this year.
Thanks have been given to all who have supported the Easter Fair over the years.

Ffair Garon
It is with sincere and considerable regret that the organiers of Ffair Garon have announced that they will be unable to prepare, set up, and manage the traditional Ffair Garon event on the Spring Bank Holiday this year.
This situation has become imposed by other commitments, social and professional, which are imposing priority claims on their time and facility, and also the lack of practical support. They hope to be able to reinstate the event in 2019.
However, they urgently require practical assistance from members of the community who are willing to assist with all aspects of the management of the event, and from sufficient stallholders and traders to ensure the essential modest income.
They will be happy to hear from anyone willing to join the small management team in a volunteer capacity. They will be in pursuit of these requirements later in the year, with the aspiration of Ffair Garon 2019.
English Methodist Church
The service on Sunday, 18 March will be led by the Rev Dr Stephen Wigley in the Pantyfedwen hall, Pontrhydfendigaid, beginning at 2.30pm. A warm welcome to everyone.
Clwb Cerdded Tregaron Walking Club
The next walk is scheduled for Saturday, 14 April and has been organised by Dafydd, who can be contacted on 07748 675798.
‘The Pig Trail – Pumlumon Fawr from Nant y Moch’ – Can you spot the pigs? Here in 1964 a reservoir was built. A community was drowned in order to create a water resource to serve Aberystwyth catchment area.
Walkers will follow the road from the dam and aim for the Bryn Beddau quarry. From here they will turn up and head for Pumlumon Fach.
The path is then steep but worth the effort. This is definitely an up and down route. Bring a pig with you!
The meeting point is outside Y Talbot at 9.30am. The walk is to last approximately 4-5 hours and is graded a moderate walk which covers 6.5 miles with an ascent of 1732 ft/ 530m.
Should you wish to become a member of Clwb Cerdded Tregaron Walking Club then please feel free to give Dafydd the secretary a call on 01974 298150.
