CEREDIGION County Council wants to hear from residents and organisations to ensure a new multi-million-pound redevelopment of Bow Street train station is fully accessible.
Following years of campaigning and discussions between the Welsh Government, the Mid Wales Rail Implementation Group, Ceredigion council, and the rail industry - plans were announced in 2016 for the new public transport interchange proposal which includes the reopening of Bow Street railway station and will comprise of a car park, cycling facilities, pedestrian links and bus stops.
The transport hub should be completed after the UK Government announced it would be contributing almost £4m towards the cost of the £6.76m station under its New Stations Fund, and Ceredigion council wants to hear the views of disabled and blind users on the plans to ensure it is accessible to all.
A council spokesperson said: “Ceredigion council wishes to receive feedback from individuals and organisations that represent people within the protected characteristic groups in regards to accessibility, and we have prepared plans to show the current proposals.”
The prepared plans can be viewed on the council’s website Consultations page.
By request, the consultation can be viewed in a different format. To request a copy of the consultation, phone 01545 570 881.
Responses to the consultation can be made by emailing [email protected]. The consultation runs until 13 May.
