A MEIRIONNYDD community has got into the Christmas spirit with a village-wide advent calendar.
24 people and properties across Corris are contributing in the scheme with every participant showcasing a festive window display on their allotted day, between 6pm and 8pm.
Elin Roberts, who organised the scheme, said: “The idea is for it to promote community participation and pride, and to try to get people from outside of the immediate area to come to the village and see what we have to offer.
“The local shop, Idris Stores, was the first of December, the pub Slaters Arms, signed up for the 8th, and the Institute and Hostel have also signed up.
“The last display will be a nativity scene created during the Crib service at The Holy Trinity Church, Corris at 2pm on the 24th, which is open to everyone to attend.”
The festive fun does not end there however.
“We also have a soup and songs evening on 16 December at 5pm in the Institute, Corris, showcasing some local musical talent, and a Christmas craft fair on Sunday, 10 December in the Institute,” said Elin.
“In addition to this, we have our first village Christmas tree in over 20 years up in front of the Institute and decorated with decorations made by local children.”
