Madam,

The idea that the cutbacks in local government have led to the situation of loss of basic cover for our shores is unbelievable. Lifeguards have been lost from most of our coastlines.

This has left us all vulnerable to loss of life. This is open to terrible happenings, which could be avoided if someone in government looked at the economics.

First there is the cost of sea searches and policing after the event. This is much more expensive than having preventative measures in place before these tragedies take place.

We all pay taxes for this cover which should be there at all costs. Sadly it is not.

Yours etc

Jean Miles

Harlech.
