“REAL people” are being sought to star in a series of new videos promoting Ceredigion as a holiday destination.
Discover Ceredigion has commissioned new contemporary style promotional films for use online and on social media and they are calling for local people from all walks of life to put themselves forward to become the central roles.
The search is for a family and a couple to take part in a range of outdoor holiday activities, with the family roles requiring between two and four children aged between 4 and 13, whilst the parent or guardian roles could be of any age.
The couple could be same sex or heterosexual and also of any age.
Gwenfair Owen, of Ceredigion County Council’s Tourism Service, said: “We wanted to promote the amazing landscape and seascape of Ceredigion as it really is, rain or shine. And we wanted to reflect this in the people seen in our footage too; we’ll film normal people going about their everyday lives and we want our main characters to be real too.
“We don’t need rose-tinted glasses or filters for Ceredigion, we’re very lucky that we have such natural beauty to promote, it’s probably one of the best jobs in Wales!
"We’re ready to film in all kinds of weather, so our family and couple will need to be prepared to brave the elements too, whatever the weather on our shooting days.
"We’re hoping that a range of applicants will put themselves forward to take part in the filming with us, we’ve already had a few lovely candidates just from word of mouth alone.”
The series of short films will focus on two of Visit Wales’ marketing themes, which are The Sea and Routes. Filming will take place over the winter and also run into spring and summer 2018.
Award-winning Calan films will produce the content, and they are already out and about capturing shots of everything that is Ceredigion.
Discover Ceredigion are also the people behind the popular Legends of the West app which celebrates Visit Wales’ Year of Legends, including Taliesin, Cantre’r Gwaelod and Twm Sion Cati.
For those wishing to be the family or couple in Discover Ceredigion’s promotional films, visit www.discoverceredigion.cymru. The application process closes on 24 November.
