A Llanbadarn Fawr man has been banned from the road for 14 months after appearing in court to plead guilty to a drug driving charge.

Jeffrey Roberts, of 33 Brynrheidol, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 2 September.

The court heard that the 55-year-old was stopped while driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Llanbadarn Road in Aberystwyth on 22 May this year.

Roadside wipes and later laboratory testing showed that Roberts had cocaine in his blood exceeding the specified limit.

Magistrates disqualified Roberts from driving for 14 months and handed him a fine of £125.

He must also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £48.
