AN Adpar man kneed his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, a court has heard.
Benjamin Samuel Partis, of Brynamlwg, admitted assaulting Nicole Daniels in the early hours of Christmas Day, but has insisted that he can’t remember the attack and that his actions are not “who I am”.
Partis was told by magistrates that he had escaped a prison sentence because of his guilty plea and his remorse after he said he would accept a prison sentence and was committed to seeking help to understand why he behaved as he did.
Kevin Challinor, prosecuting, said the couple had been out and Partis had drunk several pints, but that an argument had flared up after the couple returned home.
Ms Daniels left their home for a drive to let things calm down, but during an exchange of text messages Partis threatened her.
After waiting to try and let things calm down further, Ms Daniels returned home and found that Partis, 34, had been drinking.
He threatened to throw her down the stairs, and when she tried to defuse the argument by arranging Christmas presents, Partis slammed a bottle down on the table before kneeing her in the stomach twice.
