A DEFIBRILLATOR has been installed in an old phone box in Bala.

It has been installed thanks to the local Freemasons lodge who bought the defibrillator for the town.

On the day the device went live, Mark Bennett, treasurer of Bala Masonic Lodge, Eifion Roberts, mayor of Bala Town Council and Lis Puw, clerk (pictured left to right) gathered at the phone box.

Mark said: “Lis wrote to the lodge for assistance in purchasing the life-saving kit after having secured the old telephone box at the top of the High Street.

“After a committee meeting of the lodge, the members voted unanimously to purchase the defibrillator for the town.

“One hopes that it never gets used, but it is now in service should the need arise.”
