CLASSES are being offered to Gwynedd residents to get tech-savvy.

As part of the Digital Gwynedd project, a series of drop-in sessions are available offering practical support.

With the support of the Citizens Online charity, the county council aims to help people take full advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technology and the internet.

Cllr Ioan Thomas, Gwynedd cabinet member who is responsible for tackling deprivation matters, said: “The popular drop-in sessions provide practical help so that people can access e-mails or set-up an e-mail account, manage and save photos, shop online, raise awareness about online safety as well as highlighting the online services that are available from organisations like the council.

“Information is also provided so that residents are able to make the most of the council’s online services too - such as applying for housing benefits, paying council tax, ordering recycling bins, or if you want to see what’s on at your local leisure centre and much more.

“It’s all available at the touch of a button.”

If you own a phone, tablet or computer and need help or support on how to use them, you are encouraged to attend drop-in sessions at: Awel y Coleg, Bala, 20 March (10am - 1pm); Rhydbach Surgery, Botwnnog, 21 March (10am - 1pm); Glaslyn Centre, Porthmadog, 21 March (3pm - 6pm); Yr Hen Siop, Dinas Mawddwy, 22 March (2pm - 4pm); Caernarfon Library, 17 and 24 March (10am - 12.30pm); Bethesda Library, 17 and 24 March (2pm - 4pm); Penygroes Library, 17 and 24 March (2pm - 4pm).
