RENOWNED Machynlleth wildlife artist Terry Lambert donated artwork to farming charity RABI, which sold for £950 at a charity lunch auction.
Terry’s work is highly sought all over the world and he is best known for his paintings of birds. He started out three decades ago as an illustrator for Collins bird books but has subsequently undertaken many high profile commissions.
His work features in many collections, including those held by the McCartneys and the Astor family, and he once had six paintings gifted to the Sultan of Oman – after undertaking a research project in Oman for the Shell Oil Company.
Terry donated a fantastic print of a wren and an item of original artwork to RABI for sale at auction at their Sunday lunch fundraiser at the Maesmawr Hotel in Caersws.
As well as giving a talk about his career, Terry also unveiled his first ever sculpture collection, depicting owls, pheasants and herons.
The collection was recently launched at an exhibition in London and will reside permanently at Bettws Hall in Newtown.
The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution supports farming people of all ages in financial need.
Last year, grants of £2.1m were paid out across the board, including more than £80,000 in Shropshire and around £32,000 in Montgomeryshire.
