As we look forward to celebrating the anniversary of the start of the NHS on 5 July, we are reminded 5 that July this year is also the 75th anniversary of the post-war 1945 general election with Labour’s famous landslide victory.

It was, in fact, this Labour Government which enabled Aneurin Bevan to finally establish the long-awaited National Health Service of which we are still so proud.
