From tomorrow, special arrangements will be in place for family, friends and well-wishers to leave gifts for Ceredigion’s care home residents at community hubs.

This is to ensure the safety of residents and staff and to stop any potential transmission of Covid-19.

People who wish to send gifts can drop parcels off for residents in council-run residential care homes at the following locations between Friday, 11 December and Saturday, 19 December:

· Aberystwyth Library – 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm

· Aberaeron Library – 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm

· Lampeter Library – 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm

· Cardigan Library – 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm

· Neuadd Goffa Tregaron – Tuesday, 15 December and Thursday, 17 December, 2pm-4pm; Monday, 21 December, 4pm-6pm

People are reminded that no home-cooked items or flowers/plants can be accepted.

Remember also to put the name of the resident, the name of the home and who it’s from with a contact number on your parcel.

Ceredigion County Council’s residential care homes include Tregerddan, Bowstreet; Bryntirion, Tregaron; Min y Môr, Aberaeron; Hafan Deg, Lampeter; and Yr Hafod, Cardigan.

A Ceredigion council spokesperson said: "We understand that this is a very difficult time for families and protecting the health of our residents remains our top priority."
