Key workers in Ceredigion will have childcare in five locations throughout the county despite all schools closing from Monday.
Ceredigion County Council announced this morning (Friday) that Cardigan Integrated Children’s Centre, Ysgol Gynradd Aberaeron, Ysgol Dyffryn Cledlyn in Drefach, Ysgol y Dderi Llambed and Yr Ysgol Gymraeg Aberystwyth will provide childcare “for frontline workers in Ceredigion”.
Frontline services include health service workers, police, fire service, social services or care services.
Workers in the care services include those in the council’s care homes, the authority’s private homes and those providing domiciliary care in people’s homes within the authority.
The council said the service will run seven days a week, starting on Monday, from 8am to 6pm.
Parents will be expected to provide packed lunches for their children as the service will not be providing food at present.
The council added that locations may change depending on demand.

In Powys, all schools will be open on Monday and Tuesday, but only for key workers.
A spokesperson for Powys Council said: "All schools will be open for children of essential workers. Do not send your child to school if you are not a key worker, as outlined by the UK Government."
