PRIZE winners from Llanidloes High School have been congratulated for their success in the Montgomeryshire Society Schools Competition.

Eight pupils from the school scooped prizes in the annual competition, with Llanidloes pupils winning half of the six prizes in the Clement Davies art competition and five of the six prizes in the Charles Churchill and Mary Valentine English or Welsh essay competition.

The Clement Davies art competition saw Rebecca Jarman-Jones come second in the Year 9 and 10 category while Kate Jerman won the Year 11 to 13 award, just ahead of Lydia Jerman in second place.

There were five award winners in the Charles Churcill and Mary Valentine essay competition.

Elin Schultz came first in the Year 7 and 8 competition, with Joshua Peck taking second place.

Iola Watson won the Year 9 and 10 category, with Aerona Ferguson coming second.

The Year 11 to 13 category saw Charlotte Rowlands come second.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The school congratulates all of the winners and thanks the staff who helped them prepare their entries.”
