VOLUNTEERS at Cylch Meithrin Bro Dysynni in Llanegryn are raising money to buy vital equipment.
They have set up a fundraising page and hope to raise £1,500 for books, a new staff laptop and PPE to keep the Cylch Covid-secure.
Katy Jones, secretary of the Cylch, which is located at Ysgol Craig y Deryn, said: “I am pleased that my two-year-old son can go to a safe, Welsh, low-cost nursery with such excellent facilities.
“It’s allowed me to go back to work as a massage therapist.
“This year, we would like to treat each of the children who attend Cylch Meithrin Bro Dysynni by giving them a Christmas book.
“We also need to raise funds to ensure that Cylch Meithrin Bro Dysynni remains Covid-safe and has all the appropriate PPE and cleaning resources, as these costs have increased significantly.”
Katy added: “Our small friendly Cylch is a wonderful childcare setting, and the committee and staff work exceptionally hard.
“Being set in the grounds of Ysgol Craig y Deryn allows children to come together with future school friends from a young age.
“Cylch Bro Dysynni has cared for many children over the years, providing a small, nurturing, Welsh language pre-school.
“Cylch Meithrin Bro Dysynni has historically relied on a combination of grants and local fundraising events to remain open, but the pandemic has made our usual fundraising activities impossible.
“Without support from you, the Cylch will struggle to stay open.
“It’s a big target.
”We really hope someone out there can help us, it will have such a positive impact on the children using the Cylch.
“Any donations, no matter how big or small, will contribute to keeping Cylch Meithrin Bro Dysynni running for future generations of young children.”
The group is looking for a new treasurer. Email Bethan Jones at [email protected]
