THE headteacher of Llanidloes High School has praised staff and pupils after inspectors gave the school the second-highest rating possible.
Jane Harries told the Cambrian News that she was “absolutely thrilled” to find out Estyn inspectors have judged the school’s current performance as ‘good’, with ‘good’ prospects for improvement — the only level above this is ‘excellent’.
Addressing the school’s current performance, inspectors said there had been a gradual improvement in nearly all key indicators at key stage four over the last four years. And inspectors said the quality of leadership and teamwork meant the future looked bright for Llanidloes High School.
“I am absolutely thrilled and delighted as you can imagine,” said Mrs Harries.
“It is the result of a lot of hard work from all the staff at the school. It is also great credit to our pupils who rose to the challenge and performed brilliantly throughout the inspection.
“It does underline the hard work that has been done on a day-to-day basis to create a thriving learning environment.”
