BUILDING work on the extension that will house the primary school section of Ysgol Henry Richard will not be completed by the start of the new term, the county council has announced.

Ceredigion County Council has been informed by the contractor building the Henry Richard extension that the building work will not be completed by 4 September.

Primary age pupils will now move into the new site on 1 October. The pupils will instead return to the Llanddewi and Tregaron primary campuses in the meantime.

Cllr Catherine Hughes, chair of the governors, said: “We will be co-operating to ensure stability for pupils during this short period of delay and greatly anticipate the joining of every campus in an extension of the highest quality on 1 October.”

The council is continuing to work closely with the contractor during this period. The school has written to the parents and guardians of the children affected by the delay.
