HYFFORDDIANT Ceredigion Training hairdressers are celebrating winning top prizes at the 2018 Urdd National Eisteddfod.
Following their success at the Urdd Preliminary Hair and Beauty Competition in May, HCT pupil and apprentice hairdressers represented the county at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Builth Wells in June.
Once again, HCT’s hairdressers showed exceptional talent with their top-rate designs.
Eleri Roberts, a pupil from Ysgol Penglais, who studies hairdressing at HCT, came in fourth place in the Level 1 Under-19 competition. In the Level 2 Under-19 competition, apprentice hairdresser Bayley Harries clinched first place, and in the Level 3 Under-25 competition, apprentice hairdressers Jess Dancy and Briony Hancock took first and second prizes respectively.
After clinching top finishes, both learners and staff at HCT received personal letters of congratulations from both Ceredigion AM Elin Jones and Ben Lake MP.
Nerys Morgan, deputy manager at HCT, congratulated the learners on all of their hard work and praised them for their fantastic achievements in the Urdd Eisteddfod.
“The learners and training advisors have worked extremely hard on their designs over the last few months, and it’s a real pleasure to see their efforts acknowledged. We are all very proud of the learners at HCT and we wish them continued success in hairdressing in the future,” she said.
