Madam,

There have been letters back and forth in the Cambrian News about Brexit lately, but I think there are still one or two salient points which can be made.

The first one I would raise being the fact that EU auditors have not had satisfactory figures submitted to them for almost a quarter of a century. Where else could that happen? The second point is, what is wrong in wanting complete control of our own borders and fishing waters which were once considered ours?

Furthermore, Angela Merkel has been in office (I understand) for 11 years. Are her fellow countrymen and women satisfied with what she has done with and to their country, let alone the rest of Europe?

Greece is due another bail-out shortly. That cannot fail. What would the fall-out be if it did? And yet our money will surely be sought to aid that .Our hospitals have been used by all-comers.

There isn’t a council in the land which wouldn’t welcome more from central funding. Here in Wales we see left and right the result in cut-backs and we are told (repeatedly) they have yet to truly bite.

There are more than 300 charities in Wales alone (I have checked) and food boxes are still called for, not only for food items, but pet food, sanitary wear and nappies.

I firmly believe in something better for Wales overall, and particularly for people here. EU rulings have left folk feeling disenfranchised and redundant in their own country, hence the firm push and wind-change for something better.

Yours etc,

Jill Baxter, Abergynolwyn.
