A MONTGOMERYSHIRE politician has welcomed the news that mortgage holidays for those facing hardship due to the coronavirus crisis has been extended until October.
Conservative Shadow Minister for Economy, Business and Infrastructure in the Senedd, Russell George, said: “The UK Government is once again ensuring continued support for people who may be struggling with their mortgage payments due to Covid-19.
"This could be for a variety of reasons but no one should be worried about contacting their mortgage provider if they need help at this difficult time.
“We do however, need the Welsh Government to increase their support for people who have fallen through the gaps in the different support packages, which they need to do sooner rather than later.
"They must also ensure that the more than £2 billion they have to fight Covid-19 and support people from the UK Government is used up now when people need it the most.”
