Madam,
Surely Gwynedd Council planners and the governing body of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, campus in Pwllheli, cannot ignore the anxieties of scores of parents and grandparents of current and future college students!
The chorus of criticism concerns the possible effect of increased vehicular traffic on the very busy access road to the college if the former hockey field becomes a housing estate.
Extra cars chugging up steep Allt Salem will emit more thick, foul, noxious exhaust fumes, which could impair health by significantly harming air quality.
Pungent fumes should not be allowed to damage young lungs as vulnerable pedestrians slowly negotiate parked and moving traffic. Our young students need protection. Surprisingly, those in control of student welfare seem to be too easily swayed by financial matters.
Yours etc, E Roberts, South Beach, Pwllheli.
