A FATHER-OF-TWO has died after a terrible accident involving a fallen tree.
John ‘Ben’ Wynne, 68, was working on the family farm at Glyn Artro, Llanbedr when he was killed last Thursday afternoon, 8 November.
A “very well liked and respected” man who enjoyed an active lifestyle, Ben’s death has rocked the local community.
Jenny, Ben’s wife of 33 years, explained how the tragedy occurred and paid tribute to her loving husband.
“Contrary to other reports, he was not struck by a falling tree,” Jenny told the Cambrian News.
“He and a friend had felled the tree earlier and it was sitting on the ground.
“Ben went later to saw off some branches and then a little while later I found him underneath the tree.”
After reporting his accident, two ambulances, a community first responder, a fire engine, and an air ambulance was sent to the scene, but sadly, it was too late to save Ben.
The farmer, who has two daughters, is sadly missed by his family.
“He was a very fit man, very enthusiastic and positive,” said Jenny.
“He was always looking forward to the future.”
