A BALA business and a housing association are ensuring everyone enjoys some Christmas joy this year.

The largest housing association in north Wales, Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd, has been working with two local charities to ensure that all children in Gwynedd receive a Christmas gift this year.

Staff donated over 150 gifts, including four brand new bikes and pyjamas that were kindly donated by Bala business Aykroyds & Sons.

The gifts have been shared between two local charities, Women’s Aid and Gorwel and will be distributed to the families who use their services.

Chief executive Ffrancon Williams said: “The idea of collecting Christmas gifts for families in Gwynedd came from a member of staff, and I’m really pleased to see staff using their initiative and eager to help the communities we as a social landlord serve.

“Staff pulled together to make the relevant arrangements and I’m so proud to see such generosity from staff towards those who are most in need at this time of year.

“I hope these gifts will put a smile on the faces of many children in Gwynedd and make Christmas that little bit easier for their families.”
