LOVED ones of council-run care homes in Ceredigion will be able to visit their relatives for the first time in four months from tomorrow.

Visitors were banned from all Ceredigion council-run residential care homes in late March, as the Covid pandemic took hold.

A spokesperson said at the time: "Due to the escalating position in relation to Covid-19 and further guidance issued by Welsh Government the council has stopped all visitors to the council-run residential care homes until further notice.

"This decision has not been taken lightly. However the health, safety and welfare of our residents, staff and the public is of paramount importance at this difficult time."

For the last four months, relatives have had to rely on the telephone and video calls to speak to their family members living in residential care.

But that will change tomorrow (Monday, 27 July), when families and friends will be able to visit their loved ones once again.

The visits will have to take place outdoors, and in pre-booked 30-minute slots for a maximum of two members of a family from the same household at one time.

Slots are available on a first come, first served basis. To book, contact the Clic Ceredigion Customer Contact Centre on 01545 570881 or via [email protected]

The care homes where visits are resuming are: Bryntirion, Tregaron; Cartref Tregerddan, Bow Street; Min y Mor, Aberaeron; Hafan Deg, Lampeter; Yr Hafod, Cardigan.
