The five members of the Beardy Bikers, all over 60 years old, the youngest being 62 and the oldest 65 (David Roberts, Iolo Roberts, Meurig Roberts, Selwyn Hughes and Thomas Charles Williams) decided to set themselves the challenge of cycling 240 miles along the Lôn Las Cymru cycling route from Holyhead to Cardiff.

However, they also felt that it was important to raise funds for charity.

From having personal experience of the service of the Wales Air Ambulance, they chose this worthy cause.

The epic adventure started on Sunday, 3 June, and finished successfully on Thursday, 7 June.

The five are pictured presenting their cheque for £3,020.17 to Wales Air Ambulance paramedic Rhydian Owen and pilot John Earp.
