A FREE scheme offering training to qualified motorcyclists in Ceredigion is now available.
The county council’s Road Safety Team provides the Ceredigion Enhanced Rider Scheme, which is subsidised by the Welsh Government and is delivered by DSA-approved instructors.
The one-day course is both theory and practical-based learning. It is suitable for riders who have recently passed the test, are returning to riding after a break, are upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle or want to check their riding standard.
Cllr Dafydd Edwards, Cabinet member with responsibility for highways and environmental services, said: “Ceredigion Enhanced Rider Scheme is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills, whether you’re a very experienced motorcyclist or you’ve only just passed your test.
“We’re extremely fortunate in Ceredigion to have an abundance of sweeping idyllic countryside with routes that attract many a motorcyclist.
“We want to encourage all motorcyclists in Ceredigion to take up this beneficial opportunity to receive free training which may help develop your skills further.”
The Enhanced Rider Scheme course is being held at Aberystwyth Fire Station on Saturdays, beginning at 9am and finishing at 4pm.
