A PWLLHELI woman has raised over £2,500 for a small UK charity in memory of her mother.
Kelly Ann Williams was determined to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer in memory of her mother, Gwen, who passed away from the disease last May just 15 days after being diagnosed.
She said: “My mum was only diagnosed on 25 April, she passed away very suddenly on 9 May leaving a husband, three children, seven grandchildren, one whom I was pregnant with and gave birth a week after the funeral, she never got to meet her beautiful granddaughter.
“She is missed so much by family and friends.”
Kelly and her family were not aware of pancreatic cancer before Gwen’s diagnosis which made them come to a decision that they wanted to hold an event not only raise funds, but also awareness.
The night in Llanrwst included a raffle and music from folk band Traed Moch Môn.
The evening raise £2,587.
