PWLLHELI Guides and Rainbows are celebrating after having their meeting place revamped.
Donations, worth thousands of pounds, were made by Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd contractors Wates, G H James Cyf, Renderwall and local businessman Hefin Underwood.
Their support has enabled the building in North Quay to be reopened and the Guides to carry on at Pwllheli.
Wates and G H James are currently working with CCG on a number of estates across the county as part of CCG’s new investment programme which will see the housing association invest £30m in its properties over the next four years.
Permission was given by the Guides for Wates to use their land as a temporary site office whilst the work was carried out.
In return, Wates agreed to give the old building a new lease of life by installing new windows, a new gate, painting the outside, installing new lighting, and providing a notice board and new signs.
Steve Walker, project manager for Wates, said: “We were delighted to be able to give something back to the community at Pwllheli. It’s great to see such a difference our donations has made to the building and shows that we provide much more than building work.”
