GWYNEDD residents have been urged to make use of free bus travel.

A scheme which offers free travel for everyone at weekends on the TrawsCymru bus network was launched recently.

Two of the services are available in Gwynedd, connecting both north and south and the east and west.

Passengers can ride the T2 service (Aberystwyth to Bangor) or T3 (Barmouth to Wrexham).

Cllr Dafydd Meurig, Gwynedd Council Cabinet member with responsibility for transport, said: “Making best use of the public transport services available in Gwynedd provides clear evidence of the demand for services. In turn, this will support business cases to maintain and improve services and proves the value in our investment in the transport network.

“If you’re a student travelling home for the weekend, visiting friends or travelling for pleasure, our message is simple – make the most of the TrawsCymru service.”See this week's north editions for the full story, in shops and online on Thursday
