PEOPLE in Llangybi have sent out an SOS for a kind-hearted contractor to help install their new community defibrillator at Maes-y-Ffynnon Chapel.

Welsh Hearts supplied the lifesaving equipment and also held a free CPR session so that members of the community can gain the confidence and skill to initiate Bystander CPR in the event of an emergency.

But the chapel has been unable to raise the funds to connect the defibrillator, which has to be inside a cabinet, to the mains so that it can be used by members of the community.

A village spokesperson said the problem was due to the sub-classical historical style of the building and they need an electrician to help.

The spokesperson said: “The charity which recently partnered with the Football Association of Wales and also supplied both the defibrillator and cabinet for the chapel has now joined efforts with the Llangybi community to appeal to any qualified electrician who could offer their service to help complete the work and provide access to this lifesaving equipment for all members of the community.

“If anyone is able to help with the fundraising or electrical expertise needed to connect the cabinet to the Maes-y-ffynnon Chapel contact Welsh Hearts charity on 02922 402670 or email [email protected]
